The city’s ferry system is the largest in the nation, and the Port of Seattle is still a strong commercial hub for Seattle’s citizens, who have a comfortable median household income of roughly $61,000 annually. The median age of Seattle residents is about 35.4 years old. Seattle accommodates its diverse population, adults and children alike, by taking good care to have enough space allotted for recreation; currently, 11.52% of the city’s acreage is devoted to public parks and open spaces.
